What you can delete
A note
A person may ask to delete a note they provided. An organizer may request deletion only when they have authority for that record and its audience. We verify ownership and scope before deleting shared family content.
Your account
You may request deletion of your own account and personal account data. This does not give you the right to delete another person's records. If your account is the last organizer of a circle, another organizer may need to be appointed or the circle-deletion process completed first.
A whole family circle
Only an organizer may start a whole-circle deletion request. Wrynkle checks co-organizer, shared-record, parent-consent, and ownership requirements before carrying it out. We may ask other people to confirm or may require an organizer transfer when deleting immediately would remove data they control.
How to delete from the app
- Open Settings.
- Select Account & family.
- Choose the note, account, or family circle action shown to you.
- Review the scope, confirm your identity, and submit the request.
- Keep the request reference so you can check progress.
Full in-app deletion arrives in a later release. Until the relevant control is available in your version of Wrynkle, send the request by email using the steps below.
For a parent on WhatsApp
Reply STOP to Wrynkle at any time. This immediately withdraws consent for future WhatsApp collection, processing, and messages, and Wrynkle sends a confirmation. STOP does not by itself erase information already kept in the family circle.
To request deletion, email privacy@wrynkle.app from an address you can access, or ask the family organizer to submit a request for you. We will still verify that the request comes from the parent or from a person with authority for the requested data.
Request by email
Email privacy@wrynkle.app with the subject “Data deletion request”. Include:
- your name;
- the email address used for your Wrynkle account, or the parent's WhatsApp number;
- the family-circle name, if known;
- whether you want to delete one note, your account, WhatsApp data, or a whole circle; and
- enough detail to identify the record, without sending passwords, sign-in codes, or unnecessary private content.
We may reply with an identity or authority check. After verification, we aim to complete the request within 30 days. If shared ownership, a legal duty, or a provider cleanup delay affects the request, we will explain what remains and what happens next.
What “deleted” means
- Authorized content is hidden from use while cleanup is running.
- We remove the relevant active records, retained media, derived transcripts or classifications, private exports, and pending work that can still be stopped.
- Our backup copies are scheduled to be purged within the same 30-day completion window.
- Service providers remove residual copies through their controlled deletion cycles. We follow up on failures, but cannot promise an instant removal from every provider backup.
- We cannot recall copies that another authorized family member already downloaded, copied, or sent outside Wrynkle.
What we keep
We may keep the minimum record required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, or deletion-audit purposes. A small deletion marker may remain so that a late message or background job cannot restore deleted content.
We may also keep statistics that have been anonymised so they no longer identify you, the parent, or a family circle. We do not use retained records for advertising or sell them.
