For a parent on WhatsApp
Delete your messages
- Send delete my messages to Wrynkle on WhatsApp, in English or their own language.
- Wrynkle asks you to confirm. Tap Yes, delete all, or Keep them to change your mind.
- Wrynkle deletes the voice notes, transcripts and messages you have sent, and your family will no longer see them. Wrynkle confirms when it is done.
This cannot be undone. You stay connected after deleting; send STOP if you also want Wrynkle to stop.
Stop Wrynkle
Send STOP at any time. Wrynkle stops processing your messages and stops sending reminders and check-ins straight away, and sends one confirmation. Stopping does not by itself delete what you sent before, so send “delete my messages” first if you want both.
If you cannot use WhatsApp, email privacy@wrynkle.app or ask a family member to email us for you. We will confirm the request with you before deleting.
For family members
Delete your account
- Sign in to the Wrynkle console at console.wrynkle.app (or the app, when available).
- Open Settings. If you want a copy first, choose Your data and privacy and download an export (the link works for 7 days).
- At the bottom of Settings, choose Delete account and confirm.
If you are the only organizer of a family circle that has other members, make someone else an organizer first, or delete the family.
Delete a whole family circle (organizers)
- Open Settings with that family selected.
- Choose Delete family and confirm.
This deletes the family's timeline, recordings, transcripts, reminders, check-ins, help alerts, contacts and invitations for everyone in it, disconnects the parent and stops all messages to them.
Smaller deletions
In the console, use the privacy controls for your own messages and data. Organizers can remove a family member or delete the family. A parent can ask Wrynkle to delete their private messages and remembered details. Reminders and check-ins can be cancelled at any time.
Request by email
Email privacy@wrynkle.app with the subject “Data deletion request” and tell us:
- your name, and the email address of your Wrynkle account, or the parent's WhatsApp number;
- the family circle's name, if you know it; and
- what you want deleted: your account, a parent's messages, or a whole family.
Do not send passwords or sign-in codes. We may ask you to confirm the request from the account email or WhatsApp number, so that nobody can delete someone else's data.
What is deleted, and what is kept

In every case we may keep a minimal record that the deletion or withdrawal happened, so we can honour it; WhatsApp event and delivery logs kept for operations and security; and any record Indian law requires us to keep, for the period it requires. We do not use what we keep for any other purpose.
Copies that family members already downloaded or shared outside Wrynkle cannot be recalled. Our providers remove residual copies from their backups on their normal schedules.
How long it takes
- In WhatsApp, the console or the app: deletion happens immediately after you confirm. Recordings are removed from storage by a background job shortly after.
- By email: we acknowledge promptly and complete verified requests within 30 days. If something prevents it, we will explain what remains and why.
Remember that voice recordings are deleted automatically after 30 days in any case.
