Questions families ask
Does my parent need to install anything?
No. Your parent uses the WhatsApp they already have, by voice note or text. Only the family members who want to follow along use the family console at console.wrynkle.app, in any browser on a phone or computer.
Which languages can my parent use?
The one they are most at home in: more than 20 Indian languages, including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi and Odia, and over 100 more worldwide. Wrynkle replies in the language and script they use, by voice note or text, and chooses text or audio according to the conversation. The full list is on our languages page.
How does my parent join?
You add your parent's name and WhatsApp number in the console. Wrynkle sends them one invitation naming who invited them, with Accept and Decline buttons. If they accept, they read a short consent message and agree. Nothing they send is kept before that, and they can say STOP at any time.
What does Wrynkle remember, and can we delete it?
It remembers what makes conversations feel personal: family names, their routine, what they like, health they mention, important dates and what is on their mind. Remembered details are private and are not shown on the family dashboard. Your parent can ask Wrynkle to delete their messages too.
Is Wrynkle a doctor or an emergency service?
No. It can read a medicine strip or prescription in plain words, but it does not diagnose, change doses or give medical advice. It does not contact emergency services. When your parent asks for help it alerts the family and tells them to call 112 in an emergency.
What happens when my parent asks for help?
Wrynkle creates a help request visible to family members who can respond, using available notification channels according to their settings. When someone taps “I’m on it”, your parent is told who is responding.
Can several parents, brothers and sisters join?
Yes. One family can look after more than one parent, each with their own WhatsApp. Invite siblings, cousins and grandchildren by email: organizers manage the family, others can help or simply view.
How are lists shared?
Each parent has lists for medicines, groceries, things to do, doctor visits and their daily routine, or ones they make up. Your parent adds or ticks things by saying so on WhatsApp, or on a big-text list page Wrynkle sends them. The primary user can access medicine trackers; other lists appear in the family console when shared. Medicine records follow known instructions, with unscheduled intake recorded separately.
What can it do with a photo?
Your parent can send a photo and ask about it. Wrynkle reads a medicine strip or prescription in plain words, explains a bill, letter or form, or recognises a plant or a dish.
Does it protect my parent from scams?
Wrynkle warns about common OTP, bank and prize scams when they come up. It never asks for, and never keeps, codes, passwords or bank details.
Who can see my parent's messages?
Conversations are private by default. Your parent can choose to share messages with family organizers. Family members see shared plans, check-ins and help requests according to their role. We do not sell family data, show ads or use family content to train AI models.
How long is everything kept?
Voice recordings are deleted automatically after 30 days. Messages and remembered details stay until deleted through the available privacy controls. Shared records are also removed when the family is deleted.
What can't Wrynkle do?
It does not buy things, handle payments, make medical decisions or contact emergency services. It can look up public information for everyday questions. Live voice calls are not currently available. It is a companion for your parent and a way for the family to stay close.
Is there a mobile app for the family?
The family console works in the browser on your phone today. A mobile app is coming later.
How do we delete our data?
Your parent can send “delete my messages” on WhatsApp. In the console, use the privacy controls for your own data, remove a family member, or delete the whole family. A parent’s private conversation memory is not browsable by the family. You can also email privacy@wrynkle.app. The Data deletion page has the details.
