Who receives messages
Wrynkle messages only a parent whose family added them, and only to ask whether they want to join, until they agree. A family organizer adds the parent's name and WhatsApp number in the console. Wrynkle then sends the parent one invitation that names who invited them, with Accept and Decline buttons. The organizer can instead share a personal joining link that the parent opens and sends from their own phone. Either way, Wrynkle keeps nothing the parent sends until they agree to its consent message, and nobody else can agree on their behalf.
Each number is linked to one family circle at a time. A joining link works once and expires after 7 days. A new number, a different family circle, or reconnecting after STOP needs a new joining message and fresh consent.
The consent message
After the parent sends the joining message, Wrynkle replies with a consent message. It tells them:
- the name of the family member who invited them;
- that Wrynkle will keep their voice notes and messages for their family, send the reminders and check-ins the family sets up, and tell the family if they ask for help;
- that Wrynkle uses AI to understand their voice notes and messages;
- which family members can see what they share;
- that Wrynkle is not a doctor or an emergency service; and
- that they can say STOP at any time.
The message has two buttons, “Yes, I agree” and “No, thanks”. Typing YES or NO also works. Nothing the parent sends is kept until they agree. This reply is part of the conversation the parent started, so no advertising or unsolicited message is used to reach them.
What the parent can send
- Voice notes or typed messages in their own language (more than 20 Indian languages and over 100 more; see our languages page). Wrynkle replies in the language and script they use, and chooses a text or audio reply according to the conversation.
- Everyday conversation: their day, their memories, their worries, and questions like a recipe, phone help or what a word or form means.
- Photos, such as a medicine strip, a prescription, a bill or letter, a plant or a dish, for Wrynkle to explain in plain words.
- List updates, such as “add milk to my list” or “I took my BP tablet”.
- News and stories they choose to share. Conversations stay private unless they allow sharing with family organizers.
- Requests for reminders. Wrynkle reads the reminder back and sets it only after the parent taps “Yes, set it”.
- Questions such as “what are my reminders?”, and messages such as “I took my tablet”.
- Replies to a check-in, by button (I'm okay, Ask family, Stop) or in their own words.
- A request for help, such as “I fell” or “call my son”.
- “STOP”, or a request to delete what they have sent.

Wrynkle is a companion for the parent and a way for the family to stay close. Live voice calls are not currently available. Wrynkle can look up public information for everyday questions. It does not buy things, handle payments, or give medical diagnosis, dose, legal or financial advice. It warns about common OTP, bank and prize scams and never asks for or keeps codes or bank details. It remembers what the parent shares to make conversations personal, such as family names, their routine, what they like, health they mention and important dates. Remembered details stay private to the person using Wrynkle and can be deleted.
What Wrynkle sends
- reminders and check-ins that the parent asked for or the family set up;
- short replies to the parent's own messages, and confirmations about consent, reminders, check-ins, deletion or stopping;
- short messages that family members write for the parent in the Wrynkle console or app;
- buttons when the parent needs to confirm something; and
- an honest update when they ask for help: that the family has been alerted, and later who is responding.
When the parent asks for help, Wrynkle alerts family members by push notification and email and reminds the parent to call 112 in an emergency. Wrynkle never contacts emergency services itself. Wrynkle does not send advertising or marketing to the parent's number.
Stopping
Reply STOP at any time. Wrynkle immediately stops processing new messages and sending scheduled WhatsApp messages, and sends one confirmation. A message already handed to WhatsApp may still arrive, because it cannot always be recalled.
Stopping does not by itself delete earlier family records. To delete them, the parent can send “delete my messages” and confirm with the button, or follow the steps on Delete your data.
To start again, the family sends a new invitation or joining link and the parent agrees again. A family member cannot restore consent on the parent's behalf.
How often, and quiet hours
How often Wrynkle messages depends on the reminders and check-ins chosen and on the messages the parent sends. The family can pause or cancel schedules at any time. Quiet hours hold non-urgent family notifications; replies to the parent's own messages are sent straight away.
Messages can be late or fail because of WhatsApp, mobile networks, internet access or phone settings. Do not rely on Wrynkle when timing or safety matters.
Data
Wrynkle stores the parent's WhatsApp number, display name, language, consent record and time, the voice notes and messages they send, their transcripts and summaries, reminders and check-ins and their replies, help requests, the short profile described above, and message delivery records. WhatsApp delivers the messages. Wrynkle transcribes voice notes, understands requests and writes replies. We never use family content to train AI models. Our Privacy Policy explains which service providers process this data.
Voice recordings are deleted automatically after 30 days. The assistant's conversation history and what it remembers about the parent stay until the parent or family deletes them. Transcripts and timeline notes stay until the family or parent deletes them, or the family is deleted. Wrynkle does not sell this data or use the parent's number for marketing.
The Privacy Policy lists every provider and explains retention, security and your rights in full.
